The Food Hygiene Rating Scheme, implemented by the local councils, aims to ensure that businesses adhere to strict hygiene standards. Ratings from 0 to 5, with 5 being the highest possible score, indicating excellent hygiene practices and compliance with food safety regulations.
Inspectors from Blackpool Council visited The Boathouse Youth on Friday 3rd November 2023, as part of their routine inspection to ensure that standards of food hygiene are maintained. As part of the inspection, the below three elements were assessed.
> How hygienically the food is handled โ how it is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored.
> The physical condition of the business โincluding cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation, pest control and other facilities.
> How the business manages ways of keeping food safe, looking at processes, training, and systems to ensure good hygiene is maintained. The officer can then assess the level of confidence in standards being maintained in the future.
To receive the top rating, businesses must do well in all three elements. We are pleased to announce that the inspectors found all areas to be very good, resulting in the achievement of a 5-star food hygiene rating.
Our Catering Manager has worked tirelessly to implement robust hygiene protocols, ensuring that every aspect of their operations adhere to the highest standards.
The Boathouse Youth seeks to ensure that all barriers which may prevent children and young people from participating are unlocked. Ensuring that young tummies are filled-up with fresh, nutritious food is an important part of this work.
With this rating, The Boathouse Youth solidifies its position as a trusted and reliable food provider.
