Fleetwood Centre Manager

The Fleetwood Centre Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Fleetwood Youth Centre, ensuring it is fit for purpose and used to its full capacity. You will manage a team of staff including CPD opportunities and line management support. You will be a member of the Management Team and will work collaboratively with other centre managers on the development of the Universal Programme which will be delivered in your centre. You may also be involved with other programmes including Direct Engagement, Holiday, Activity & Food (HAF) and Pathway (SEN).

As a member of The Boathouse Youth management team you will work across all programs at The Boathouse Youth and have responsibility for the offer delivered to young people aged 5-17 at your centre as well as the day to day running of this site.

You will work on a face to face basis with stakeholders, young people and other agencies to promote and develop the organisation and its services.

You will have a passion for putting children and young people first and wanting to be a positive role model in their lives.

Main duties of the Youth Centre Manager role include:

  • Manage and oversee the day to day running of the youth centre
  • Be a role model for young people while building strong relationships
  • Ensure the programme is creative, fun, challenging and contributes to the growth of young people
  • To lead on safeguarding and behaviour management during sessions to ensure The Boathouse Youth is a welcoming environment for all young people

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Level 6 JNC Youth Work Qualification (or currently working towards) is highly desirable. Minimum requirement is Level 3 Qualification in a relevant area (i.e. Youth Work Practice) with a commitment to working towards a Level 6 JNC Youth Work Qualification
  • Experience of delivering face to face youth work
  • An understanding of the issues and challenges faced by children, young people and their families living in Blackpool
The Boathouse Youth is committed to the effective Safeguarding of its Young People. This post will be recruited in accordance with the NSPCC’s guidance on safer recruitment. This includes a thorough interview, scrutiny of former employment, a requirement for references and an Enhanced DBS check.
