The Boathouse Youth held a corporate fun-day at Fylde Rugby Football Club on Saturday 21st May 2016 with many local businesses entering teams for the It’s a Knockout Competition. The ceremonies were mastered by The It’s A Knockout Roadshow who did a marvellous job of gearing up the crowd’s appetite for competition. A series of inflatables were the main source of challenge for the teams who competed against each other all hoping to walk away with the Winner’s Cup.
BHY’s Chief Executive, Laurance Hancock, competed in a team with Kayleigh Smith & Benjamin Wilson, the charity’s two operation managers, Sarah Lindsay & Chris Jenkins, two of their youth workers and Andrea Hargreaves – a volunteer. A group of young people from the organisation’s eldest age-group also competed. Unfortunately, neither team did very well but both had the most fun!
At the event’s close Laurance took to the stage to thank Fylde RFC for their hospitality, the It’s a Knockout Roadshow for their entertainment and all the individuals and companies participating. Finally, thanks were given to the charity’s Chair of Trustees, David Brennand, whose commitment and planning made the event possible.
The event raised £1,500!
