Our Detached & Outreach Team provide a wealth of activities and provisions away from our Centre. The D&O Department has three primary aims:

To work alongside young people who would rather not use a centre based facility

To raise awareness of The Boathouse Youth

To widen young people’s knowledge of the world around them

Our Detached & Outreach Team can often be seen around the Bloomfield Area utilising spaces such as George Bancroft Park and Blackpool Gateway Academy with whom we have a great working partnership.
During the Summer months you’ll see young people enjoying activities such as slip and slide rounders, water fights and bouncy castles. Whilst during the winter you’ll see us lighting our camp fires, wrapping up warm and handing out hot chocolate. Whatever the weather we’re ready to engage with young people. Our Detached & Outreach Van is kitted out with football goals, team bibs, and equipment to play rounders, quick cricket, lacrosse, manhunt… and lots more!

Our D&O Team also love to introduce young people to new places and experiences.

Our Community Champions group are a team of Young Volunteers who give their time freely each weekend to support other members of society such as the elderly or the disabled.

We also have a great partnership with the Skills Construction Centre in Kirkham who provide regular workshops for our young people around trades in the construction industry and offer college courses and apprenticeships.
